We want your contribution. Ares Magazine needs Fiction, Art, and Game Designs. An overview is below, but we have also provided a Submission Guidelines page that provides more clarity as to methods to ensure your submission is properly received and fairly evaluated. All accepted submissions are paid on publication.
Our current plan is to compose Ares Magazine primarily of quality fiction. If you write short stories or novellas in any of our preferred genres, we ask you to submit your best to our review team.
We’re seeking enough fiction to fill the next several issues. We are always hungry for new art and game design submissions.
We need cover and interior art. We can work with most media — oils, 3D, Photoshop — but we are particular with respect to the subject matter. See the genre list, below. If we know what game title and theme we wish to use for the next issue, we’ll post it so you can provide submissions in line with what we seek.
We will publish a unique game in every issue. Like everything else, game submissions should align with the genre list, below. The format for a game submission should approximate one counter/marker sheet, one map, and eight to sixteen pages of rules.
Here is our mighty list of genres on which we wish to focus our efforts. You are welcome to push the boundaries of this list a bit.
- Science Fiction
- Alternative History
- Pulp Adventure
Within the context of these Preferred Genres, we are emphasizing Action-Adventure presentations. That is, we gladly accept submissions that are introspective, cerebral, and slower-paced, but we give preferential treatment to submissions that are more kinetic.
Please submit all fiction submissions to Ares Fiction Submission Form
Please direct all non-fiction submissions to email@example.com. Please note this email address is for Art and Game Designs only.
